| Jonas Lemberg was born in 1971. He has worked as a contracted freelance photographer for 19 years for the newspaper Expressen, a major national daily paper, which he left in 2008. In 1994 he was awarded 1st prize in the category Best News Picture in the Picture of the Year contest. That photograph depicted the catastrophe of the “Estonia” (a cruise ship which capsized en route to Sweden from Estonia). | In addition to his pictures of the major news stories in Sweden, he has captured the devastation in Thailand after the tsunami, and also the war in Lebanon. In Iran he photographed different regular citizens, and the photo series attracted a lot of attention in a highly appreciated photo exhibition called “Iran; Behind the Veil”. His latest work is about six different professions in Russia and was exhibit in 2008. |
